Machon Maayan 2016-2018

Why did you choose to attend Machon Maayan?

I chose to attend Machon Maayan because I wanted a year of self-growth and introspection that I wouldn’t have been able to get anywhere else. Machon Maayan gave me way more than what I thought I needed and I’m incredibly grateful.

Where are you now?

I’m currently living in Givat HaMivtar in Yerushalayim. I’m studying education at Maalot Neve in Har Nof, Yerushalayim.

What is one thing you learned at Machon Maayan that sticks with you until this day?

I’ve learned many different things while at Machon Maayan, but the most powerful thing I’ve learned is that who you are as a person is much more important than the amount of Torah that you know.

What was your favorite part about Machon Maayan?

My favorite part of Machon Maayan was spending time with the faculty and their families during the week and Shabbat. When you spend time with any staff member, you understand what it means to live Torah. Each home that I’ve spent time in inspired me to bring the Torah into my own home.
